I bought a RAM chip to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop, I put in my model number and they guarenteed it would be the right RAM.

What they sent me was SODIMM and it didn’t work. When I called Dell they told me it was the wrong kind and I need SDRAM? But when I call the company that I bought the RAM from they said that as long as it physically fits the computer it is the correct kind. The RAM does fit and properly snap into the slot but the computer won’t recognize it.

I have updated my BIOS to the latest revision and it still doesn’t work.

Do I have the wrong RAM? or is there something else I need to do to get it to work?

omg i just lost like over $100 at the casino today, and i’m so mad! i could’ve done some important stuff with that cash, but instead my dumb *** decided to gamble. maybe i’m just an unlucky person, because whenever i DO win (which is seldom) i win about $5 or $10 or $20, and nothing more.
