Lottery is the WORST type of gambling available, you have the least chance of winning. The second least is the slot macjine, but atleast you have on average an 100+ better chance of winning. some people that are actually lucky enough to win, still lost more since they started playing, it adds up, if you play lottery;
$1 per day
$7 per week
$30 per month
$360 per year
$3,600 per every 10 years
It is a terrible gambling with terrible pay offs. the people that actually win end up “messing up their life” by friends negging them all the time, etc.
BTW: I’m talking about big sums of money. Like $1,000 +.

They think if they play long enough their luck will change.The odds of winning are not too good and truly a waste of money.Also believe that money will solve all their problems.Many times it makes them worst.Some lottery winners end up broke anyway.

It gives people hope. Not all people have your type of mind frame and are probably alot worse off than you are. In their minds they are spending small amounts of money for the opportunity to win millions in the event they get lucky. Hope that helps.

Well, I play the lottery for fun. $2 a week. And I always play the same number. It’s fun, but some get addicted very easily. In my state all the money goes back to education. That has been several Billion dollars! Our educational system has improved greatly.
I don’t play the small pots, just the Million dollar ones.
So as long as you keep it simple and within your reach of entertainment, then do it.
If you spend your pay check on a pack of cigarettes, a 6 pack of beer, and the rest in lottery tickets instead of putting food on the table for your kids, then you are sick, and need real help!

You are 56 million to1 to win a state lottery, but people have hope that it will be the one to win the big payoff. You could buy 25,000 tickets and you would have only incresed your chance of winning by less then 1%. It is sad to see people try and win games like that, but a lot of the money goes to schools so that the only good thing about it. People see it’s only a dollar each day so it does not seem like much, but your right, it’s a waste of money and time.

I forget who said this, but I heard a great quote once. “Lotteries are a tax on those who don’t grasp mathematics.” When I see someone buy 20 bucks worth of tickets for a 500 buck drawing, I chuckle. Now a buck every month on a 300 million dollar lottery, that ALMOST makes sense. LOL
