The last thing I remember was winning $2,500 on a slot machine about 3 years ago, but it loses its savior considering in the prior 3 months, my dad died, I lost my job, was thrown into psycho counseling, was being investigated by child protective services, and was about to lose my house due to back taxes.

By lowering one of my meds I’ve regained much of my mental capacity that was inhibited by the medication.

The last positive thing that happened in my life was almost 1 yr back wen I got a job (which is now the biggest negative in my life)
Positives and negatives come in equal measures. It is upto us to recognise those. When something bad happens, I usually think how worse it could have been. Then I feel positive. Long back my dad suffered stroke…i felt AWFUL….but the positive was that his condition was much better than others. Right now, my family cannot afford a bigger house. But the positive is that we still have a roof above our head. My job ***** at the moment. But the positive is that I have a job with an awesome salary.
Coming back to you. Start organizing things in life…attend to it one by one. I am sure everything will be fine. Often when you fall in one problem, it’s like entering a quicksand…then every problem seems magnified…that weakens our mind and we get into more problems…which makes us wonder if something has SERIOUSLY gone wrong.
I suppose you father’s loss has affected you deeply. But feel happy thinking he is leading a perfect life in heaven. Don’t worry, pull your socks up. Start a new approach in life….start it afresh. Make a change TODAY.

We came ‘empty handed’ and are sure to go back the same way. This is an existential truth. It works well. Only that it is difficult to maintain awareness of this irrefutable truth all the time, and consciously too.
Those who ‘happen’ to take things (almost everything) positively, also happen to maintain this in their awareness consciously.
It is quite normal to feel bad about adverse things happening. But the permutation and combination of events do happen in a certain cohesive way, which we are yet to fully understand and grasp. Till then, we have to hunt, and seek that glimpses of occasional positive things happening to our lives.
